The first ever expo, focusing on the unique needs of people over 50, was presented as a joint venture between Gray Power, Tshwane Forum for Older Persons, Plus 50 Magazine and Tshwabac in Tshwane during October 2006.  It coincided with the luncheon for senoirs, celebrating International Day for Older Persons.

The Expo, which ran from 3 - 5 October, attracted 35 exhibitors and just below 2 000 visitors.  It laid the foundation for bigger and better things to come, considering that similar events in Belgium fill four exhibition halls!

A symposium on "A Positive Lifestyle" was presented under the auspices of Geratec and 100 people attended.  Several delegates expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the event and the boldness of the organisers to host this event.
